Endocrine and Diabetes

What type of work to expect and learning opportunities:
Mostly ward rounds and ward-work, opportunities to go to clinic with Dr Wilton/Registrar/Clinical Fellow if desired. You will often see referrals with Dr Wilton and will see a lot of interesting endocrinology patients. You will gain confidence in managing diabetes, addison’s, thyroid disease and many other endocrinological presentations. You will gain confidence in conducting solo ward rounds.

Your Main Duties:
Working in a small but very supportive team, Dr Wilton will always be available to answer questions or to
review patients if you are worried.

Monday
Consultant Ward Round
Tuesday
Registrar/ Clinical Fellow Ward Round
Wednesday
Junior Ward Round
Thursday
Consultant Ward Round
Friday
Junior Ward Round/Consultant Board Round

On call requirements:
Medical on Calls- 4-5 weekends/4 months (some 13:00-21:00 ward cover, some 8:00-21:00 MAU). Also occasional 08:00-21:00 weekdays on MAU (about 1 in 10).
